"Determinants of International Trade in Latin America's Commodity Exports". In Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), Latin America in the World Economy: Recent Development and Trends. One of fourteen papers presented in the book as thought-provoking studies of the economic adjustment of Latin America to the difficult external environment of the 1980s. The anthology evolved out of a group of papers presented at the Third Dominican Republic Conference on International Debt and Adjustment in 1986. The debt problems of Latin America form the background for the analyses undertaken by the articles in the book. The articles go beyond description of the debt problems to offer insights on the more fundamental long-range problems facing policy makers in the region. Positive analyses into the nature of the adjustment process and insights into future institutional changes that could improve the functioning of the Latin American economies highlight the book.
"Export Prospects of Latin America”. In External Debt and Economic Development in Latin America: Background and Prospects. Inter-American Development Bank, 1984.
This book offers a comprehensive analysis of the key issues surrounding the rapid expansion of Latin America’s trade in manufactures. It examines the region's changing role as a provider of traditional labor and natural resource intensive manufactures, and the effects of macroeconomic policies, trade policy reforms and structural adjustment policies on the dynamic movements in comparative advantages, economies of scale, technological transfers and the globalization of industries, all of which are altering the productivity of skilled and semi-skilled labor, capital, and technological capabilities of the region’s countries. The systematic treatment of these issues makes the book indispensable for anyone interested in Latin America’s transformation in the world economy. Editor. Gheltenham, Glos.: Edward Elgar Publishing Limited, 1998
"The Impact of Trade Liberalization in Agricultural Products”. In Trade Liberalization in the 1980s. Edited by H.W. Singer, N. Hatti, and R. Tandon. New World Order Series, Vol.8, New Delhi: Indus Publishing Company, 1990.
The book offers a unified treatment of the theory, econometric modeling, and policy evaluation of international commodity trade, and it brings together recent theories of the structure of trade and advances in applied econometrics. Although considerable progress has recently been made in identifying the major determinants of trade, the analyses published in the international trade literature have been almost wholly devoted to the exports of industrialized counties. In this book recent theories of the structure of trade, and advances in applied econometrics, are brought together to provide a unified treatment of trade in the major exports of the developing countries. The book goes beyond mere description of old and new policy issues and of modeling methodologies, and offers a rigorous treatment of the nature and structure of the key relationships governing international commodity trade. Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1991.

This monograph deals specifically with the emergence and characteristics of special border zones in Thailand and how they are able to deal with the range of situations that exist along the country’s borders. It brings together practical tools and experiences surrounding Thailand’s border area development. Its emphasis is on new directions being adopted to drive economic growth and social development in those regions that could otherwise lag behind the rapid growth of agglomerations near major international gateways. It provides the basic tools and methodologies required to adequately evaluate and plan the location, coverage, incentives and financing for border development areas. In so doing, it emphasizes practical issues needed to implement special border development zones in ways that ensure that the choice of projects, programs and institutions designated for the border areas are based on international best practices.
It covers special border zones at three levels: first, it describes their characteristics in terms of common features and operational components; second, it covers the overall strategic approach to their design and adaption to specific area requirements; and, third, it provides details on practical steps involved in their implementation and operationalization."Trade in Natural Resource Products”.
