The study examines options for the Government of Honduras’ fiscal treatment of the banana industry in the country. To address these requests, the Government created an Inter-Institutional Group composed of the Central Bank, CEPLAN, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Natural Resources. Coordination of the activities of the Group was the responsibility of UDAPE. The issue was considered from a broad sectoral perspective in the context of the present key macroeconomic and cross-sectoral issues confronting the Honduran economy.
